| | myLot Discussions| U.S. men’s gymnasts: The naysayers helped us medal | | The U.S. Men’s Gymnastics Team think that widely publicized doubts about their abilities actually helped them to their surprising brone medal win in Beijing.Using a patchwork crew to make up for the absence of their two strongest members, Team USA took third place after naysayers kept talking about what shaky ground they were on. Predictably, it was the Chinese team that won the gold, with 286.125 points. Japan passed the U.S. for silver on the final apparatus, totaling 278.875 points. The U.S. tallied 275.85 to slip past Germany for the bronze. | |
| | Women, please help us men out! | | I dont know if any other women out there do this but my girlfriend says this from time to time: "We've been going out for how long now babe and you still dont know what's bothering me?" I dont mean to sound like a bad boyfriend, but, she goes through so many different mood swings it's hard to keep track of what kind of mood she's in. I'm not psychic and i really do wish i was. Ladies, is there a secret in finding out whats going on? When I ask if anything is wrong she says nothings wrong and yet you can see it on her face that something is wrong. If i try and investigate she gets angry and if I dont investigate its: "You suck, you didnt even try to find out what is wrong!" Is there a something I can do to avoid the argument the next time this happens? | |
| | Who cares about us men? | | So much is being said and done to protect the fairer sex who have, admittedly been, treated unfairly by society down the ages. The recent bill as well as the not-so-recent anti dowry sec 498A options open to women today however threaten a very different danger to the society.
Today, city-bred women tend to start a career and marry late by which time they are far too used to their independence to think about making the compromises that are necessary to make a marriage work. Compromises, mind you, from both sides are equally important.
When the women discover that its not worth taking the trouble of settling down in a marriage, so many of them, with adequate support from their parents, unleash a nightmare for their husband's family, abusing - not using - the draconian laws that were mooted to actually protect the women that genuinely need such protection.
So whats being done to prevent abuse of such well-intentioned laws? Or are we men not important enough to deserve a "votebank" status yet?
| | Why Did Eve Blame the Serpent? | | I'm sure the serpent didn't really sayanything, and that she just blamed him because he gave her a bad example to follow. And like all women, she just went and broke the rules, invited Adam into it, but regretted her enjoyment later. Why do all women do this to us men (invite us in, and regret it later)? | |
| | He said/She said | | I picked girls as an interest because they are the ones that keep us men in line, especially when it comes to emotions. I was never raised to believe "men don't cry" instead I learned the finer things by my mother and aunt. Manners were important in growing up. "No elbows on the table" "Open doors for the ladies" "No hats on in church" that kind of thing. I read a lot of self-help books on relationships, including "Men are from mars, women are from venus" by John Gray. In it I learned about how our speech and thoughts are different from a woman's. Men are hunters, and females are the hunted. That is why you don't see many ladies asking guys out, it has always been the opposite. Despite equal rights, it's not necessarily so in finding the right mate. They think more of offspring. Looks, personality, prestige, etc. so the child will be raised to the highest standards, and without pressure. Do you agree with this? Why or why not? If you are female, would you make the first move? I am interested in you sharing what you feel | |
| | LIFE begins at 50. | | I have known this for a long time, even before I arrived at the age of 50, I,m a bit past that age now.I have read an item in the paper ( Sun-Herald, 20may 2010.)and pass to you.
Reaching the age of 50 is something of a milestone and, for many, it's not a terribly appealing one.But there's a group of scientists who say we should be looking forward to 50.
Rather than marking the beginning of the end, our half-century heralds the start of our best years.Free of the stresses of forging a career, finding a spouse and bringing up young children, worries fade and feelings of happiness start to surge.Men, incidentally, are more cheerful than women throughout life.
-Daily Mail. That last line us men have always known that.Where are you with this???HICCUP/
| | Good thoughts …Fact or Rumor? Primefiles | | (I) I am not really fun of reading quotes I received from somebody in my phone, until one time I tried opening some of them. Usually I would just delete messages like this, but I guess they are really awesome. And these are one of them:Andooopssssssss!Do NOT leave right away----I am not obliging you to read all, just pick up one thought you like. It’s really wonderful. This is indeed a compilation of discussions. They are categorized.Friends and RelationshipsI.1 There is a lot of people who call you by your name, but there are only few persons who can make it sounds so special.Agree or not? I agree with this. Yes, there are several persons who call me by my name, I am happy with that---yet, only few of them can make it sounds so special…And I happy I got them…Enjoy life/Happiness/Sorrow

I.2 Silence doesn’t mean everything’s okay…smile doesn’t always mean happiness…because most of the time silence and smile just show how weak person is and it’s just there way of pretending unhurt. This one really catches my attention. It’s true right? Many times I tried to keep silence and smile, but...
| | Affairs between the sexes? | | My wife and I had engaged in a heated battle of opinions and figured I would bring the topic here to be discussed. We were discussing who has the easiest chances of committing and affair, men or women? My stand was that is it physically easier for a woman to have an affair, seeing that all they have to do is offer themselves to a man and most times will gain the sex they want. Think of it as this way take a man and a woman at a bar and they were to ask every person of the opposite sex if they wanted to go back to their place for sex right now. The chances of a man taking someone home would be very slim, maybe even he would end up getting charged with sexual harassment. Now the woman on the other hand my guess is after the first guy she asks she would be leaving the bar back to her place to have sex.I also feel it is easier for women to conceal the fact that they are having an affair. Not saying that men are good at hiding it, but women look into everything their mate does and us men we have no clue most of the time. When a wife leaves their husband alone most of the time the male enjoys the free time where as a woman looks at is why is the man not paying attention to me.... | |

| | I wasn't trying to break Mylot rules! | | Like most Mylotters I am still getting used to the new features on Mylot. Before Mylot got better I rarely used the Search the Web section. The past few days I decided to look up a person's name. A long ago US men skating champion who also is a skating analyst. Name is*ick Button! All I got for results were sexually related! I'm sorry the guy uses that shorten version of Richard! I was embarresed to say the least! I even had a similar problem a few weeks ago while making a comment on some of the NFL Hall of Fame 2010 inductees. I typed the name*ick LaBeau in,who is the defensive coodinator for Pittsburg. Anyway I couldn't post my response until I replaced*ick with Coach! This would be so much easier if that name wasn't used to discribe something else! I sure this only happens to me! | |
