| | Men's Volleyball deemed to be "gay" by many - WHY? | | Many people claim that men's volleyball is gay - how so?Volleyball is a great sport, not a lot different, classisfication-wise from other sports, yet many people say it's a sport for women. I play it on a team and I love it - it's a lot of fun and it's a very competetive game. Let alone the fact the U.S. VOlleyball teams are among the best in the world.
What do you think about volleyball? I think it should be encouraged and promoted on all levels.
| | Olympic Stabbings | | Todd and Barbara Bachman, both tourists and former Olympian Elisabeth Bachman (wife of men's volleyball coach Hugh McCutcheon) were stabbed by a Chinese man while they were visiting a popular tourist site in Beijing, China. One has survived the other did not of the couple.Chinese tour guide with the Americans was also stabbed and injured.
Tang Yongming, 47, from Hangzhou, China is alleged to have been the attacker and reports are claiming he leapt to his death from a second floor of the tower where the attack took place. The couple were enjoying the marvels of Drum Tower 13th century imperial structure a little North of The Forbidden City. What I find is odd is that until the Olympics, China would proudly display on their official tourism webpages how the Chinese Government*guarantees* the safety of any traveler/visitor/tourist to China. Now I can no longer find this guarantee. So basically China has a floating safety policy?

| Americans in Harms Way | | I just heard on the news today that yesterday in Beijing at the opening ceremonies for the Olympics that two American citizens were stabbed by a Chinese man who later jumped from a building. They were friends of the American Men's Volleyball coach. How sad! Seems like there is constant turmoil against us and other countries. Be honest, do you think by traveling to an event like the Olympics that American citizens are in danger? Should citizens put up extra guard when going to worldwide events like this? | |
| | American tourist killed in China........did u read the news? | | I can't believe it......after a spectacular inauguration to olympics, this was least expected. But see this is it.....I don't know what more to say. Here is the newsBEIJING - Team officials and state media say a knife-wielding Chinese man attacked two relatives of a coach for the U.S. Olympic men's volleyball team at a tourist site in Beijing. One of the victims was killed and one was injured in the attack on the first day of the Olympics Saturday. The man then committed suicide by throwing himself from the second story of the site, the 13th century Drum Tower three miles from the main Olympics site. The brutal attack shortly after midday was all the more shocking because of the rarity of violent crime in tightly controlled China, which has ramped up security measures even more for the Olympics.Whats your say about the matter? | |
